Abstract
208 Field Hospital, comprising three squadrons, is recruited from health professionals in the North West. āCā squadron has a detachment in Lancaster. Territorial field units are supported by regular armed forces specialists, and work with close support medical units on the front line and in primary care. Field hospitals are deployed on a three-month tour to the medical facility at Camp Bastion in Helmand province and take responsibility for the evacuation and hospital treatment of
coalition forces and Afghan nationals. Peter Jackson reports on the joyful homecoming of his unit following its first mass deployment since 1945.
