Lancaster Moor Hospital's coat of arms

Abstract

In the 2010 Autumn issue (vol 6 no 3 page74) we displayed a coat of arms from a wall in the Annexe of Lancaster Moor Hospital, and asked if anybody could explain the symbols, especially the' cockerel'. Thanks to Mary Ann Watts-Tobin and Valerie Anderson for writing in to the Journal regarding this.
